The fabulous somedays store in Surry Hills, Sydney recently got an evil twin sister. The new store and gallery is located in the elegant Royal Arcade in central Melbourne. Visit the somewhere store to buy cool Scandinavian fashion or browse contemporary art. I contributed with an illustration to make it even more exciting. If possible…
I was recently commissioned by CMC design agency in Sydney to create illustrations for an colouring-in activity pad for kids. The client, Kimberly-Clark, is running a campaign to spread the word of the importance of hand washing among hospital visitors. The campaign kit includes stickers and the activity pad to be handed out to kids visiting hospitals. Read more about the Kimberly-Clark hand hygiene care pack at their website.
Somedays, the Nordic fashion store in Surry Hills, recently launched their new website. The Somedays web has evolved from a traditional website to a blog with weekly updates on new products and fashion events. The Gallery has it’s own blog, and coming soon a webshop. The site is based on a Wordpress blog, with a customised theme specially designed for Somedays. I created a new illustration of the actual Somedays store for the top banner, and used different bright colour themes for each part of the website.

A while ago a couple of friends asked me and my girlfriend Ulrika (johnander.com) to create their wedding invitation. It’s a Chinese/Swedish couple and they wanted the invitation to be both traditional Chinese and appeal to their Swedish friends.
They decided on having the Chinese dragon (man) and the phoenix (woman) on the cover. Standing alone, each symbol is powerful, and together they represent a union of success, prosperity, friendship, love, and enlightenment. The combination of these two highly symbolic creatures at wedding festivities suggests a match that is blessed with money, incredible luck and a perfect balance (Yin and Yang).
The heart with the Chinese writing is also a common symbol at weddings and translates double happiness.
On the inside the couple wanted two bridges. To the left the Sydney Harbour Bridge representing the city where they lived for a few years leading up to the wedding. To the right the Riksbron in Stockholm, where they met for the very first time. The bridges also symbolize the connection between two people from two very different cultures.
We wish them all the luck in the future!
The Somedays Store & Gallery in Surry Hills, Sydney is turning 3 years, and they are throwing a giant birthday party. I was asked to design the invitation. The bash is called “The Golden Party”, and apparently 300 blondes are already confirmed. I can’t wait…
